Introduction

Welcome to Year 4!
Miss Armitt is the Year 4 teacher.
Year 4 is a very important year as the children are learning to become independent thinkers and independent learners in preparation for their transition to middle school. The children are asked to take on responsibilities across the school to support the younger children and to help the staff. These responsibilities include becoming buddies to the Reception children, lunch time monitors, sports leaders and mediators. Throughout the year, Y4 take part in a number of exciting trips and excursions. In the Summer term, they visit Newby Bridge for a residential. This allows the children to develop their own independence further as well as having an enormous amount of fun!
The zip-wire and hot chocolate are my personal highlights!
