Cross Country Competition

Cross-country Running Event at Mowden Hall School

On Friday 5th October Mrs Jukes took Year 3 to Mowden Hall School to compete in a cross country running event against children from six different private schools including the RGS, Newcastle High , Westfield, Austin Friars and Longridge Towers.

The course was challenging and involved running in single sex year groups around the grounds of the school . Wylam were absolutely amazing with 2 of our boys finishing second and third respectively in a race of around fifty children! They both received medals for their fantastic achievement. Well done boys. All our other boys completed the race and should be very proud of themselves as the standard was very high.

Our very small group of five Year 3 girls also performed well, completing the course with Mabelle coming first of the five. Well done girls you did so well against stiff competition.

Two KS1 girls excelled themselves by coming first and second respectively in their race and received well deserved medals.

This was a great start to Wylam’s sporting season and we look forward to many more successes this year.
